Guide for teachers and parents
Run a class group
Kids log their workouts, you see who's showing up, and the class board rewards effort over strength. Ten minutes to set up.
Set it up
- 1Sign in (top right) and open My training. Pick a display name: it's what your group sees.
- 2Go to Groups, type a name under Make a group ("Grade 6 PE", "Tuesday fitclub", "The Smiths") and press Create.
- 3Your group gets a six-character join code, shown at the top of the group page. Tap it to copy.
Two ways to bring kids in
Kids with their own login
Older kids sign in on their own phone or laptop, go to Groups and type the code under Join with a code. They log their own workouts from then on.
Kids without a login
For younger kids, type a first name or nickname under Add a kid by name on the group page. Nobody needs an account: you log for them. The roster marks them no login.
A kid added by name has an 8-letter claim code (the Claim code button beside their name, only you see it). If they get their own login later, they type it under Claim your spot and everything you logged for them becomes theirs.
Logging
- Kids press Log it on any workout in Free Workouts or on any movement in the movement library, or use Log a movement on My training.
- A result can be a weight and reps, reps only, a time, a hold, or a few words. A heavier lift than ever before gets a New best! badge.
- You log for any kid with Log for beside their name. Results you log are marked as logged by you.
- Raincity members who use the Raincity Workouts app see those results on schools.fit too, and their gym days count toward their streak.
The boards
Consistency (the main board)
Days with anything logged in the last 30 days. Ties go to the longer streak. Every kid can win this one by showing up, whatever their size or strength.
Bests
Pick a movement to see the group's best results: heaviest lift (by estimated one-rep max, or by rep range), most reps, fastest time or longest hold.
Show on TV on the group page puts the boards on a classroom screen or projector: big type, the join code in the corner, a new board every 15 seconds and fresh numbers every minute. Press F for full screen.
What kids can see
- Only members see a group. Nothing lists groups; the code is the only way in.
- Members see first names or nicknames, ranks and counts. Nobody can open another kid's history.
- You (the person who made the group) also see each kid's history and the claim codes.
- Use first names or nicknames, never full names. A kid's display name is the only thing others see.
- Treat the code like a class password: anyone who has it can join. Remove anyone with the button beside their name. If the code gets around, the new code button (the circling arrows beside it) swaps it for a fresh one and the old one stops working; everyone already in stays in.
- Kids can delete their own results. Deleting the group leaves every kid's results with them.
Ready?
